Are you considering a camping trip or weekend getaway with an RV? Well, if your looking in and around Bakersfield, then there are 2 lakes you must consider for your next RV camping trip.

Buena Vista Lake

At an elevation of only 300 feet, Buena Vista Lake offers an 86 acre lake, and a 998 acre lake nestled right next to each other. The small of the two is good for fishing, but the larger lake is awesome for boating, skiing, and wakeboarding. They offer 112 campground sites for up to 10 people at each site. They have no maximum length requirement on RV trailers as well. Near the campsites are restrooms and a general camp store.

Lake Isabella

At an elevation of 2,500 feet, Lake Isabella sits at the heart of the Kern River Valley. It is one of California’s best kept secrets. With many activities, including fishing, hiking, camping, windsurfing, skiing, or just relaxing, the lake itself has much to offer. Don’t miss one of California’s largest wild west celebrations, Whiskey Flat Days, four days of fun for the entire family.  Also, the lake is home to the Isabella Lake Fishing Derby, one of the nations largest trout derby. With the “wild & scenic” Kern River flowing into and out of Isabella Lake, there are amazing sights and great times to be had by all.
